Viking Armor
Viking armor was designed for protection during battles and raids. It typically included a combination of chainmail shirts, known as hauberks, and leather or metal helmets. The chainmail was made of interlinked metal rings, providing flexibility and defense against slashing attacks. Some warriors also wore padded garments underneath for added comfort and protection.
In addition to hauberks and helmets, Vikings used shields made of wood, often reinforced with metal. These shields were round and painted with symbols to represent their clan. While not all Vikings wore armor, those who did aimed to enhance their chances of survival in combat.
