Vietnamese Viet Cong
The Vietnamese Viet Cong, also known as the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam, was a communist-led guerrilla force that fought against the government of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. They aimed to reunify Vietnam under communist control and were supported by North Vietnam. The Viet Cong used unconventional warfare tactics, including ambushes and sabotage, to challenge the more conventional military forces of South Vietnam and the United States.
The Viet Cong were composed of both regular soldiers and local militias, often blending in with the civilian population. Their extensive network of tunnels and supply routes allowed them to operate effectively in the dense jungles and rural areas of Vietnam. The group's resilience and tactics significantly contributed to the eventual fall of Saigon in 1975, leading to the reunification of Vietnam.
