Victoria Land
Victoria Land is a region located in Antarctica, specifically on the eastern side of the continent. It is bordered by the Ross Sea to the west and extends towards the Transantarctic Mountains in the north. The area is known for its rugged terrain, including glaciers, ice fields, and volcanic features, such as Mount Erebus, one of the few active volcanoes in Antarctica.
The region was named after Queen Victoria and was first explored in the late 19th century. It is primarily uninhabited, with research stations established by various countries for scientific studies. The harsh climate and extreme conditions make it a challenging environment for both researchers and wildlife.
