Victor Klemperer
Victor Klemperer was a German-Jewish philologist and author, best known for his diaries documenting life under the Nazi regime. Born on October 9, 1881, in Landsberg an der Warthe, he studied languages and literature, eventually becoming a professor. His work focused on the evolution of the German language and its connection to culture.
Klemperer's most notable work, *I Will Bear Witness*, chronicles his experiences from 1933 to 1945, providing a detailed account of the impact of Nazism on everyday life. Despite facing persecution, he survived the Holocaust and continued to write until his death on February 11, 1960.
