Very Large Array
The Very Large Array (VLA) is a radio astronomy observatory located in New Mexico, USA. It consists of 27 large radio antennas arranged in a Y-shaped configuration, allowing astronomers to observe celestial objects in great detail. The VLA is operated by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and is one of the most powerful radio telescopes in the world.
The antennas can be moved along tracks to change their configuration, which helps improve the resolution of the images they capture. The VLA has contributed significantly to our understanding of various astronomical phenomena, including black holes, pulsars, and the structure of galaxies.
