Vernier Calipers
Vernier Calipers are precision measuring instruments used to measure the dimensions of an object, such as length, width, and depth. They consist of a main scale and a sliding scale, known as the Vernier scale, which allows for more accurate measurements than a standard ruler. The design enables users to read measurements to a fraction of a millimeter or inch.
To use Vernier Calipers, the object is placed between the jaws of the caliper, and the sliding scale is adjusted until it fits snugly. The measurement is then read by combining the values from both the main scale and the Vernier scale, providing a precise reading.
