Vermont Legislature
The Vermont Legislature is the legislative body of the state of Vermont. It consists of two chambers: the Vermont House of Representatives and the Vermont Senate. Together, these chambers are responsible for creating and passing state laws, as well as managing the state budget.
The Vermont House has 150 members, while the Vermont Senate has 30 members. Both chambers meet annually at the Vermont State House in Montpelier, the state capital. The legislature typically convenes in January and adjourns in May, during which time they discuss various issues affecting the state and its residents.
