Vera Menchik
Vera Menchik was a pioneering chess player born on February 7, 1906, in Moscow, Russia. She became the first Women's World Chess Champion in 1927 and held the title until her death in 1944. Menchik was known for her exceptional skill and competitive spirit, often playing against male opponents and achieving notable victories.
