Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) is a serious heart condition where the heart's lower chambers, or ventricles, quiver instead of pumping blood effectively. This chaotic electrical activity prevents the heart from delivering oxygen-rich blood to the body, leading to a loss of consciousness and, if not treated quickly, can result in death.
VF often occurs during a heart attack or as a result of other heart diseases. Immediate treatment, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation, is crucial to restore a normal heartbeat. Recognizing the signs and acting fast can save a life in cases of ventricular fibrillation.
