Vendôme Column
The Vendôme Column is a monumental structure located in the Place Vendôme in Paris, France. Erected in 1810, it was commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Austerlitz. The column is made of bronze and features a spiral relief that depicts scenes from the battle and other military achievements.
Standing at 44 meters tall, the column is topped with a statue of Napoleon dressed as a Roman emperor. Originally, the column was adorned with a statue of Napoleon, but it was replaced after his fall from power. The Vendôme Column remains a significant symbol of French history and architecture.
