Veer Chakra
The Veer Chakra is a military honor awarded by the Government of India for acts of bravery in the face of the enemy. It is the third-highest wartime gallantry award in India, following the Param Vir Chakra and the Maha Vir Chakra. Established in 1947, it recognizes the courage and sacrifice of armed forces personnel during combat situations.
The award is presented to members of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Recipients of the Veer Chakra are celebrated for their exceptional valor and commitment to duty, often inspiring others in the defense of the nation.
