Vatican Council
The Vatican Council, also known as the Second Vatican Council or Vatican II, was an ecumenical council of the Roman Catholic Church that took place from 1962 to 1965. It aimed to address relations between the Catholic Church and the modern world, promoting reforms in various areas, including liturgy, ecumenism, and the role of the laity.
The council produced several important documents, such as Lumen Gentium and Gaudium et Spes, which emphasized the Church's mission in contemporary society. Vatican II marked a significant shift in the Church's approach, encouraging dialogue with other faiths and adapting practices to better engage with modern believers.
