Vasil Levski
Vasil Levski was a prominent Bulgarian revolutionary and national hero, born on July 18, 1837, in the town of Karlovo. He is best known for his role in the struggle for Bulgaria's independence from Ottoman rule. Levski founded the Bulgarian Revolutionary Central Committee and developed a network of revolutionary cells across the country, advocating for a free and democratic Bulgaria.
Levski's vision included the establishment of a republic based on equality and justice. He was captured by the Ottomans in 1872 and executed on February 6, 1873. Today, he is celebrated as a symbol of freedom and patriotism in Bulgaria.
