Vascular Anomaly
A vascular anomaly is an abnormal growth or development of blood vessels in the body. These can be classified into two main types: vascular malformations, which are present at birth and grow with the individual, and vascular tumors, which are abnormal growths that can develop over time. Common examples include hemangiomas and lymphangiomas.
These anomalies can occur anywhere in the body and may affect the skin, organs, or deeper tissues. While many vascular anomalies are benign and may not require treatment, some can lead to complications, such as pain or bleeding, necessitating medical intervention.
