Van fish
The Van fish, also known as Van catfish or Van trout, is a unique species native to the Lake Van region in eastern Turkey. This fish is known for its distinctive white color and large size, often reaching lengths of up to 1 meter. It thrives in the cold, alkaline waters of the lake, which is one of the largest in Turkey.
Van fish are primarily carnivorous, feeding on smaller fish and aquatic organisms. They are an important part of the local ecosystem and have cultural significance in the region, often featured in traditional dishes. Conservation efforts are in place to protect their habitat from environmental changes.
