Valborg
Valborg, also known as Valborgsmässoafton, is a traditional spring festival celebrated in Sweden and other Nordic countries on April 30th. The event marks the arrival of spring and is associated with the feast day of Saint Walpurga, a Christian saint. People gather to light large bonfires, sing songs, and enjoy festivities with friends and family.
The celebration often includes various activities such as picnics, outdoor games, and concerts. In many cities, especially in Uppsala, the festivities are particularly grand, with students and locals participating in parades and other communal events. Valborg is a time for joy and the welcoming of warmer weather.
