Vaishya
The term "Vaishya" refers to one of the four primary social classes in the traditional Indian caste system, known as the Varna system. Vaishyas are primarily associated with commerce, agriculture, and trade. They play a crucial role in the economy by engaging in business activities, farming, and providing goods and services.
In the context of Hindu society, Vaishyas are considered the third tier of the caste hierarchy, following the Brahmins (priests and scholars) and Kshatriyas (warriors and rulers). Historically, they have contributed significantly to the development of markets and trade networks, helping to sustain the livelihoods of various communities.
