Shudra
The term "Shudra" refers to one of the four main social classes in the traditional Indian caste system, known as the Varna system. Shudras are typically associated with service-oriented roles and occupations, often working as laborers, artisans, or in various forms of manual work. This class is considered the lowest in the hierarchy, following the Brahmins, Kshatriyas, and Vaishyas.
Historically, the Shudras have played a crucial role in supporting the economy and society through their labor. Despite their essential contributions, they have often faced social discrimination and restrictions. In modern India, efforts are being made to improve the status and rights of Shudras, promoting equality and social justice.
