Võro language
The Võro language is a Finno-Ugric language spoken primarily in the Võrumaa region of Estonia. It is considered a dialect of Estonian, but it has distinct features that set it apart, including unique vocabulary and pronunciation. The language is part of the broader Uralic language family, which also includes Finnish and Hungarian.
Võro has a rich cultural heritage and is used in local literature, music, and education. Efforts have been made to promote and preserve the language, especially through the establishment of the Võro Institute, which supports its use in various aspects of daily life and encourages younger generations to learn it.
