Seto Language
The Seto language is a Finno-Ugric language spoken primarily in the Setomaa region of southeastern Estonia. It is closely related to Estonian and Finnish, but has distinct features that set it apart. Seto is considered a minority language, with a small number of speakers, and is recognized for its rich oral traditions and unique cultural heritage.
Seto language is part of the Uralic language family, which includes languages like Hungarian and Sámi. Efforts are being made to preserve and revitalize the language, as it faces challenges due to declining speaker numbers. Cultural events and educational programs aim to promote the use of Seto among younger generations.
