Uygur People
The Uygur people are a Turkic ethnic group primarily found in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. They have a rich cultural heritage, including unique traditions, music, and dance. The Uygurs predominantly practice Islam and have their own language, Uygur, which is written in a modified Arabic script.
Historically, the Uygurs have been involved in trade along the Silk Road, connecting China with Central Asia and beyond. Today, they face various social and political challenges, including issues related to cultural preservation and human rights within the context of Chinese government policies.
