Uterine Didelphys
Uterine didelphys is a rare congenital condition where a woman has two separate uteruses, each with its own cervix. This occurs due to a failure in the normal fusion of the Müllerian ducts during fetal development. Women with this condition may experience normal pregnancies in each uterus, but they may also face complications such as preterm labor or miscarriage.
Diagnosis of uterine didelphys is typically made through imaging techniques like ultrasound or MRI. While many women with this condition can lead healthy lives and have successful pregnancies, they may require specialized care during pregnancy to monitor any potential risks associated with having two uteruses.
