Müllerian ducts
The Müllerian ducts are paired structures that develop in the early stages of embryonic development in both males and females. In females, these ducts evolve into key reproductive organs, including the fallopian tubes, uterus, and upper two-thirds of the vagina.
In males, the Müllerian ducts typically regress due to the influence of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) produced by the testes. This regression is crucial for the development of male reproductive structures, such as the vas deferens and seminal vesicles, ensuring the differentiation of male and female reproductive systems.
