Urraca of Portugal
Urraca of Portugal was a medieval queen born around 1081, the daughter of Henry of Portugal and Teresa of León. She became the queen consort of Alfonso VI of León and Castile through her marriage in 1093. Urraca played a significant role in the politics of the Iberian Peninsula during a time of territorial conflict and dynastic struggles.
After her husband's death, Urraca ruled as queen regnant of Castile and León from 1109 until her death in 1126. Her reign was marked by challenges, including civil war and disputes over her authority, but she is remembered for her efforts to maintain her kingdom's stability amidst turmoil.
