It is inspired by the New York City metropolitan area and features a diverse landscape, including urban areas, forests, and mountains. The region is home to many unique Pokémon species, some of which are exclusive to Unova. The main games set in Unova are Pokémon Black and Pokémon White, along with their sequels, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2. The region's Pokémon League is located in Victory Road, where trainers compete to become the Champion. Unova also features notable cities like Castelia City and Nimbasa City.
