Universal Basic Education Commission
The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) is a Nigerian government agency established to ensure that every child has access to basic education. Its primary goal is to implement the Universal Basic Education (UBE) program, which aims to provide free and compulsory education for children from ages 6 to 15. UBEC works with state governments to improve educational infrastructure, teacher training, and learning materials.
UBEC also monitors and evaluates the progress of the UBE program across Nigeria. By collaborating with various stakeholders, including local communities and international organizations, the commission seeks to enhance the quality of education and promote literacy among children, ultimately contributing to national development.
