United Socialist Party
The United Socialist Party (PSUV) is a political party in Venezuela founded in 2007. It emerged from the merger of several leftist parties and is closely associated with the policies of former President Hugo Chávez. The PSUV advocates for socialism and aims to promote social justice, economic equality, and the empowerment of the working class.
The party has been a dominant force in Venezuelan politics, especially during the presidency of Nicolás Maduro, who succeeded Chávez. The PSUV has faced criticism for its handling of the economy and political dissent, leading to significant challenges in governance and public support.
