United Confederate Veterans
The United Confederate Veterans (UCV) was an organization formed in 1889 to provide support and camaraderie for former soldiers of the Confederate States Army who fought during the American Civil War. The group aimed to preserve the memory of the Confederate cause and honor the sacrifices made by its members.
The UCV held annual reunions and established local camps across the Southern United States, fostering a sense of community among veterans. The organization also engaged in various activities, including the promotion of Confederate heritage and the establishment of memorials, such as the Confederate Memorial Hall in New Orleans.
