Unite the Right
"Unite the Right" refers to a series of rallies organized by white supremacist and far-right groups in the United States, most notably the event held in Charlottesville, Virginia in August 2017. The rally aimed to unite various factions of the far-right, including neo-Nazis, white nationalists, and other extremist groups, in opposition to the removal of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
The event drew significant national attention due to violent clashes between participants and counter-protesters, resulting in injuries and the death of Heather Heyer, a counter-protester. The rally highlighted ongoing issues of racism, hate speech, and the rise of extremist ideologies in contemporary American society.
