Union for the Mediterranean
The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is an intergovernmental organization established in 2008 to promote regional cooperation and dialogue between European and Mediterranean countries. It aims to address common challenges such as economic development, environmental sustainability, and social issues, fostering stability and prosperity in the region.
The UfM includes 42 member countries, comprising all 27 European Union nations and 15 Mediterranean partner countries. Key areas of focus include climate change, energy, transport, and education, with initiatives designed to enhance collaboration and improve living conditions for people across the Mediterranean basin.
