Combatant Command
A Combatant Command is a unified command structure in the United States military responsible for specific geographic areas or functional missions. These commands are led by a four-star general or admiral and are tasked with planning and executing military operations, ensuring readiness, and coordinating with other branches of the armed forces.
There are several Combatant Commands, including U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which focuses on the Middle East, and U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), which oversees the Asia-Pacific region. Each command plays a crucial role in national security and international military cooperation.
