Unified Combatant Command
A Unified Combatant Command is a major military command in the United States that combines forces from multiple branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. These commands are responsible for specific geographic areas or functional missions, ensuring coordinated operations and effective use of resources.
There are currently eleven Unified Combatant Commands, including U.S. Central Command and U.S. Pacific Command. Each command is led by a four-star general or admiral and operates under the authority of the Secretary of Defense, focusing on joint military strategies and collaboration among the different service branches.
