Unangan
The Unangan, also known as the Aleut, are an Indigenous people native to the Aleutian Islands and parts of the Alaska Peninsula in the United States. They have a rich cultural heritage that includes traditional practices such as hunting, fishing, and gathering. The Unangan language, also called Unangam Tunuu, is part of the Eskimo-Aleut language family.
Historically, the Unangan faced significant challenges, including colonization and the impact of diseases brought by outsiders. Today, efforts are being made to preserve their language and culture, with various organizations working to revitalize Unangan traditions and promote community well-being.
