Ulrike Meinhof
Ulrike Meinhof was a German journalist and radical leftist known for her role in the Baader-Meinhof Group, also called the Red Army Faction. Born on October 7, 1934, she initially worked as a writer and editor, focusing on social issues and political activism. Her writings reflected her growing disillusionment with the state and society in post-war Germany.
In the early 1970s, Meinhof became involved in militant activities, advocating for armed struggle against what she viewed as a repressive government. She was arrested in 1972 and later died in prison on May 9, 1976. Her life and actions continue to provoke debate about terrorism, ideology, and the limits of political dissent.
