Udham Singh
Udham Singh was an Indian revolutionary known for his role in the struggle for India's independence from British rule. Born on December 26, 1899, in Punjab, he witnessed the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919, which deeply affected him and fueled his desire for justice.
In 1940, Singh assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, as an act of revenge for the atrocities committed during the massacre. He was arrested, tried, and ultimately executed on July 31, 1940. Singh is remembered as a martyr and a symbol of resistance against colonial oppression.
