UV-C light
UV-C light is a type of ultraviolet light that falls within the wavelength range of 100 to 280 nanometers. It is part of the broader ultraviolet spectrum, which also includes UV-A and UV-B light. Unlike these other types, UV-C light is mostly absorbed by the Earth's atmosphere and does not reach the surface, making it less harmful to humans.
UV-C light is commonly used for disinfection purposes. It can effectively kill or inactivate various microorganisms, including bacteria and viruses, by damaging their DNA or RNA. This property makes it valuable in settings like hospitals, laboratories, and water treatment facilities for maintaining hygiene and preventing the spread of infections.
