UV-C
UV-C is a type of ultraviolet light with wavelengths between 100 and 280 nanometers. It is part of the ultraviolet spectrum, which also includes UV-A and UV-B. Unlike these other types, UV-C is mostly absorbed by the Earth's atmosphere and does not reach the surface, making it less of a concern for skin damage.
UV-C light is commonly used for disinfection purposes. It can kill or inactivate various microorganisms, including bacteria and viruses, by damaging their DNA or RNA. This property makes UV-C effective in sterilizing surfaces, air, and water in various settings, including hospitals and laboratories.
