USS Swordfish
The USS Swordfish (SS-193) was a United States Navy submarine that served during World War II. Launched in 1939, it was one of the early submarines in the Gato class and played a significant role in the Pacific Theater. The vessel was known for its successful patrols and sinking enemy ships, contributing to the Allied war effort.
Throughout its service, the USS Swordfish completed numerous missions and earned several battle stars for its achievements. The submarine was eventually lost in 1944 during a mission near the Philippines, marking the end of its operational history.
