USS Shark
The USS Shark was a United States Navy submarine that served during World War II. Launched in 1941, it was part of the Gato-class submarines, designed for long-range missions. The Shark was primarily tasked with reconnaissance and attacking enemy shipping in the Pacific Theater.
During its service, the USS Shark completed several successful patrols, sinking multiple enemy vessels. Unfortunately, it was lost in 1944 during a mission near the Philippines, and its crew of 87 was declared missing. The submarine remains a symbol of the bravery and sacrifice of those who served in the U.S. Navy.
