USS Sea Dog
The USS Sea Dog (SS-401) was a submarine of the United States Navy, launched on 1 March 1944. It was a Gato-class submarine, designed for anti-submarine warfare and reconnaissance missions during World War II. The Sea Dog was commissioned on 30 June 1944 and served in the Pacific Theater, completing several successful patrols.
After the war, the USS Sea Dog was decommissioned in 1946 and later reactivated during the Korean War. It was ultimately decommissioned for the final time in 1960 and sold for scrap in 1971. The submarine played a significant role in naval history, contributing to the U.S. Navy's capabilities during its service.
