USS Saint Louis (CL-49)
The USS Saint Louis (CL-49) was a Cleveland-class light cruiser of the United States Navy, launched on 28 December 1941. She served primarily during World War II, participating in various naval engagements in the Pacific Theater, including the Battle of Leyte Gulf. The ship was designed for speed and firepower, equipped with multiple gun mounts and anti-aircraft weapons.
Commissioned on 15 June 1943, the USS Saint Louis played a crucial role in supporting amphibious operations and providing naval gunfire support. After the war, she was decommissioned in 1949 and later sold for scrap in 1970. The ship earned several battle stars for her service during the conflict.
