USS Narwhal (SS-167)
The USS Narwhal (SS-167) was a United States Navy submarine launched on 24 March 1930. It was part of the Narwhal-class submarines and was designed for long-range missions. The submarine was named after the narwhal, a marine mammal known for its long, spiral tusk.
During its service, the USS Narwhal conducted various operations, including training exercises and reconnaissance missions. It was decommissioned on 30 June 1945 after serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. The submarine was later scrapped in 1946, marking the end of its operational life.
