USS Mount Hood (AE-37)
The USS Mount Hood (AE-37) was a United States Navy ammunition ship, launched on March 1, 1970. It was named after the famous Mount Hood, a dormant stratovolcano in Oregon. The ship was designed to transport and deliver munitions to naval forces, supporting various military operations.
Commissioned on December 15, 1971, the USS Mount Hood served in the Pacific Fleet and participated in numerous exercises and deployments. It was equipped with advanced systems for handling and storing ammunition, ensuring the safety and efficiency of its operations. The ship was decommissioned on September 30, 2006, after 35 years of service.
