USS Kearsarge (1900)
The USS Kearsarge (BB-5) was a battleship of the United States Navy, launched in 1900. It was named after the famous Civil War ship, the original USS Kearsarge, which sank the Confederate raider CSS Alabama. The battleship was part of the Connecticut class and was designed for naval warfare during the early 20th century.
Commissioned in 1902, the USS Kearsarge served in various roles, including training and fleet exercises. It was equipped with powerful guns and armor, reflecting the naval technology of its time. The ship was decommissioned in 1920 and later sold for scrap.
