USS Kearsarge (CV-33)
The USS Kearsarge (CV-33) was an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, commissioned in 1946. It was the last conventional aircraft carrier built for the Navy and served during the Cold War, participating in various operations and exercises. The ship was named after the Battle of Kearsarge, which took place during the American Civil War.
Kearsarge was designed to support naval aviation and could carry a large number of aircraft, including fighters and bombers. It was decommissioned in 1970 and later scrapped, marking the end of its service in the U.S. Navy.
