USS Growler (SS-215)
The USS Growler (SS-215) was a Gato-class submarine of the United States Navy, launched on 2 December 1941. It was designed for anti-submarine warfare and reconnaissance missions during World War II. The submarine was equipped with torpedoes and had a crew of around 80 men, allowing it to operate effectively in the Pacific Theater.
Throughout its service, the USS Growler completed several successful patrols, sinking enemy vessels and gathering intelligence. After the war, it was decommissioned in 1946 and later scrapped in 1970. The submarine is remembered for its contributions to the war effort and its role in naval history.
