USS Cleveland
The USS Cleveland refers to several ships in the United States Navy, named after the city of Cleveland, Ohio. The most notable was the Cleveland-class light cruiser, which served during World War II. Launched in 1943, this ship was designed for anti-aircraft defense and had a displacement of about 12,000 tons.
Another significant vessel was the USS Cleveland (LPD-7), a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock commissioned in 1966. This ship was used to transport and land Marines, their equipment, and supplies during amphibious operations. Both ships played important roles in U.S. naval history.
