USS Cimarron (AO-22)
The USS Cimarron (AO-22) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched on 12 December 1939. Designed to supply fuel and other essential supplies to naval vessels at sea, she played a crucial role during World War II and beyond. The ship was named after the Cimarron River, which flows through the states of New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Throughout her service, the USS Cimarron supported various military operations, including those in the Pacific Theater. She was decommissioned in 1970 and later sold for scrap. The ship's contributions to naval logistics helped ensure the operational readiness of the fleet during critical missions.
