USS Cassin
The USS Cassin (DD-372) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy, launched on 28 February 1944. It was named after Rear Admiral William Cassin, who served in the U.S. Navy during the 19th century. The ship was designed for anti-submarine warfare and escort duties during World War II.
Commissioned on 15 June 1944, the USS Cassin participated in various operations in the Pacific Theater, including the Battle of Leyte Gulf. After the war, the ship was decommissioned in 1946 and later sold for scrap in 1973. The USS Cassin earned several battle stars for its service.
