USS Bon Homme Richard
The USS Bon Homme Richard (CV-31) was an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, commissioned in 1944. Named after the famous ship commanded by John Paul Jones, it served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, playing a crucial role in various military operations. The ship was equipped with advanced technology for its time, including a flight deck for launching and recovering aircraft.
Decommissioned in 1971, the USS Bon Homme Richard was the last of the Essex-class carriers to serve in the Navy. After its retirement, the ship was sold for scrap in 1973, marking the end of its nearly three-decade service history.
